F5 LAUNCHES SUPER-NETOPS INITIATIVE

F5 last week introduced the Super-NetOps initiative, an industry training and community-based program aimed at evolving network operations functions and enabling application services to be delivered through a service model. The goal of the Super-NetOps program is to help network operations professionals address this challenge by learning the skills necessary to standardise critical application services and provide them within automated toolchains.

F5 ANNOUNCES BIG-IP PER-APP VIRTUAL EDITION

F5 is excited to announce the general availability of the BIG-IP Per-App Virtual Edition (VE). Per-App VEs enable customers to rapidly develop applications with enterprise-class application and security services for private cloud environments. Customers can consume Per-App VEs via Subscription, Enterprise License Agreement (ELA), and Bring-Your-Own-License (BYOL) to align with their OpEx or CapEx budgets.

BIG-IP V13.1 RELEASE NOW AVAILABLE

F5 is excited to announce the release of BIG-IP version 13.1. For F5 partners, TMOS v13.1 provides several opportunities to help customers in their adoption of public and private cloud environments for their applications. The v13.1.0 release continues the product development momentum to enhance and extend cloud and security solutions, and improve product usability and quality. New use cases include support for Microsoft Azure Stack private cloud, Microsoft Azure ADFS PIP, Account takeover prevention, and MQTT for IoT applications.




F5 RELEASES NEW HIGH-END BIG-IP iSERIES PLATFORM

The BIG-IP iSeries 11X00 platform is available for ordering. For F5 partners, the BIG-IP iSeries 11x00 (i11600 and i11800) presents a great opportunity to talk to large enterprise and service provider accounts about scaling up application and security services or consolidating platforms as increased vCMP density, higher CPU performance, and increased memory provide greater scalability.

NEW CLOUD TEMPLATES EXPAND INTEGRATION

F5 continues to evolve multi-cloud support with new and updated Cloud Formation Templates (CFTs) for public and private cloud environments. For F5 partners, these CFTs drive profitability with faster, more consistent installation and configuration services. F5 cloud solution templates speed up and simplify the deployment of BIG-IP VEs in various cloud environments. The 7th release sees the addition of a number of new templates and a whole multitude of updates to existing templates.

BIG-IQ CENTRAL MANAGEMENT V5,4 NOW AVAILABLE

F5 is proud to announce the release of BIG-IQ version 5.4. BIG-IQ provides a central point of control for F5 physical and virtual devices and for the solutions that run on them. It simplifies management, reduces TCO, helps ensure compliance, and drives increased agility by providing the tools needed to deliver applications securely and effectively. FLOWMON JOINS F5 TECHNOLOGY ALLIANCE PROGRAM

Flowmon Networks announced that it has joined F5's Technology Alliance Program. Flowmon and F5 have joined together to help service providers fight multi-vector DDoS attacks and to protect their customers' businesses. The solution also fits the needs of enterprises which need to ensure availability of their applications. The solution is built upon the integration between Flowmon DDoS Defender and F5 BIG-IP Advanced Firewall Manager (AFM).

F5 ACHIEVES AWS NETWORKING COMPETENCY

In October, F5 announced it had achieved the AWS Security Competency designation. F5 is now proud to announce it has received AWS' new Networking Competency accolade. The BIG-IP Virtual Edition platform showcased its ability to ensure performance, availability, and security for business-critical applications hosted within the AWS cloud. By obtaining both the Security and Networking Competency certifications from AWS, F5 has set itself apart as a one-stop shop for customers migrating their workloads and applications to AWS.

F5 JOINS CLOUD NATIVE COMPUTE FOUNDATION

We are excited to announce that F5 has joined the Cloud Native Compute Foundation (CNCF) at the Silver level to emphasise our commitment to open source technologies. In addition to F5 joining CNCF, we will also be a Silver sponsor of the Linux Foundation, the umbrella organisation for CNCF. The foundation hosts a significant number of open source projects such as Kubernetes (container management) and Envoy (service mesh proxy). We're seeing substantial interest in our container integrations with Kubernetes as well as OpenShift and Cloud Foundry.

With the release of the BIG-IP iSeries appliances, F5 has announced the end of sale of the BIG-IP 2000, 4000, 5000, 7000, and 10000 series platforms effective April 1st, 2018.
