Azure Standard Managed Disks promotion extension
Pricing | Managed Disks webpage
Azure Managed Disks is the recommended disk storage offering for use with Azure Virtual Machines for persistent storage of data. Managed Disks provides secured disk storage as well as the following:

Simplified management

Industry-leading durability and availability that simultaneously replicate your customers' data to three different replicas

More security with granular access control

Standard Disks are suitable for development and testing scenarios or other workloads that are less sensitive to performance variability. Standard Managed Disks promotional pricing, which entitles eligible customers to receive a 50 percent promotional discount, will be extended to September 30, 2017. Starting October 1, 2017, your customers can take advantage of Standard Managed Disks through general availability pricing. For more information about pricing, please visit the Enterprise Portal. For more information about Standard Managed Disks, please visit the Managed Disks webpage.

Blob-level tiering coming to Azure Blob storage
Pricing | Blob storage webpage
With exabytes of capacity and massive scalability, Azure Blob storage easily and cost-effectively stores from hundreds to billions of objects, in hot or cool tiers, depending on how often data access is needed. Azure Archive Blob Storage Preview provides low cost data storage for rarely-accessed data and is a great choice for customers seeking a more cost-effective way to store large quantities of infrequently accessed data in the cloud while still maintaining data accessibility.

Archive Blob Storage Preview is built on the same secure, massively scalable, and durable foundation that is used for all Azure Storage types. Blob-level tiering lets customers store hot, cool, and archive blobs within the same Storage account and easily change Storage tiers via the Blob storage account interface or programmatically via our REST API.

Once Archive Storage and Blob-level tiering for Blob storage accounts becomes generally available on November 1, 2017, your customers will notice some changes to the way usage is tracked on their invoice. The changes include:

Because ListContainer and CreateContainer operations can now include blobs of multiple tiers, these two operations will now always be charged at the lower "Data Management Standard IO - Hot Block Blob Write/List" rate regardless of the account tier setting.

All current read operations except for GetBlob will be charged at the lower hot read rate regardless of the account tier. These operations will be billed as "Tiered Storage Standard IO - Tiered Block Blobs All Other Ops."

To see the impact on existing resource GUIDs in all regions, please reference the table on the Azure Blob Storage: Addition of new meter webpage. Your customers' applications will not require any code changes; however, your customers may need to modify billing routines that rely on resource names or resource GUIDs. For more information about pricing, please visit the Enterprise Portal. To learn more about this service, please visit the Blob storage webpage.
